You rise from the earth skyward jutting forth your bulk of ice, rock, snow, and forested flanks. What tales you could tell about all those who have passed before you, humbled by your mighty empowering self. Here, you have been since time began, and as I climb along your flanks, I am reminded that long after I am gone when my footsteps no longer appear on this earth, you will still be here witnessing those who pass your way. And a shiver runs up my spine, for you are eternal and I am not. Humbled, by the mere thought I am just a man and nothing more, I seek contentment to be near you this day.....for today I am with you.....and my heart sings a thousand songs.......
