When darkness settles into the steep ravines, and the last rays of the sun have touched the mountain top, whispering words can be heard in the wind if one listens long and hard enough. But do so not with your ears.

The voice one hears comes from within, and the wind is only telling you to open up your BEING to what is already there. Grasp that what lays before you, hold it and harness it for what true wilderness splendor and serenity is.

Though I am only a mere man, I'm part of this grand wilderness that encompasses me here at 6,000 feet. Yes, I am but a speck, like an ant, humbled, upon this mountain in the night wind.....and from my lips came the song verse, "I'm Getting Closer To My Home," by the rock band Grand Funk Railroad released in June 1970.
