With A Song In My Heart

With a song in my heart, I climbed up the mountain ridge on the shoulder of Black Peak above Byrne Lake in the Glacier Peak Wilderness for a better view of my surroundings. Glacier Peak's face (rock, snow and glaciers) was magnificent, as were the lesser peaks of the area. In silence, except for the howl of the wind, I stood there in the early morning as the sun came up, moving to where the sun rays met the earth . . . seeking its warmth from the cold night I had experienced that chilled my core. The song, "Let It Be" by the Beatles came into my heart, specifically a certain verse that echoed over and over in it.......

And when the night is cloudy
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow
Let it be
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be

Beatles . . . Let It Be . . . 1969
