In the shadow of Sloan Peak, with camera ready for a double exposure, I lingered long enough to watch the sun cast a last sparkling glow and then fade behind Monte Cristo Peak. Then, I made a hasty descent down through the shadowy forest in the fading light as darkness fell in around me, and Shangri-la never felt so grand . . .
