...there beneath the towering firs and cedars dashing its way through a narrow canyon was the brackish water of Schweitzer Creek . . . dancing with falls, foam, and spray, among the ferns and the like that clung for hold in pockets of rocked-earth above the water line.  And in the bliss of the waft, I pondered how beautiful and good this earth really is in its natural state.....
