Sometimes the everyday world revolves without me, that is, all the normal things we humans usually associate with and do.
When I go steelhead fishing my world spins in the opposite direction, it slows way down and becomes much richer and deeper.
My connection to river, earth, sky, wildlife, and fish is enhanced two-fold. My senses come alive, and I am awe-struck by
the simplicity of it all; seldom does one find that in today's everyday concrete world mostly spun within the confines of
cities. As a young lad at about the tender age of eight, my father and grandfather took me steelhead fishing to the river,
and after having hooked one and landing it, I never asked the reason as to "Why."
