Rain Forest Shadows
~ Sounds of Silence ~

The evergreen forest is rich in life,

Far away from that of city strife.

Where huge ancient cedars and Douglas fir grow,

They bond root in primeval dirt far, far below.

 

Sun shafts stream thru the canopy high above,

Dissapearing in shadows like that of the flight of a mythical white dove.

The blueberry brush, moss and ferns grow thick and lush,

Covered with morning dew from the silence of the night's hush.

 

I see deer tracks step in the mountain stream's mud,

They feed about wanting the blooming bud.

And though it's deep, dank and dark here there is no fear,

For it's fear that blinds you..... to what the wildlife hold dear.....
