Behold! Such beauty you have and such strength you radiant. It is no wonder why climbers seek the footholds upon your flanks of ice and snow to reach your summit, in quest of your lurid-treasured view. You have surrounded yourself with mighty mountains and opaque peaks such as: Deception, Constance, Mystery, Devil's Fang, Gilhooley Tower, Anderson Massif, Athena, and Warrior, but none are so grand as thee. From across the Hoh River Valley in the Bailey Range near Stephen Peak, I rise this morning in awe of your splendid beauty. And, it's no mystery to me why Ancient Indians knew you as Sun-a-do . . . home of the Thunderbird, where only the king of mythical birds could or would surely dwell . . .
note: According to Greek mythology, Olympus was the home of the 12 major Hellenic Gods . . . perhaps the reason why it bears this name today.
