There are some places on this earth that I simply hold in awe: magical places, many of them up high in the alpine country, where one cannot help but feel his own soul pulsing forth to face the reality of true solitude at hand. The picture taken of myself by long-time good friend Mark Boyle depicts such: a scene of quiet-inner emotion and inspiration from within...awe-inspiring scenery of Eldorado Peak in the North Cascades well off the beaten trail. "And when I am old with brittle bone grant me the strength once more to return to the alpine zone, wherein the sunrise and sunsets beyond the mountains are magnificent. Let me rest here forevermore yet not alone but surrounded by life where wild and noble beasts roam" . . .
