Listening To Coyote
~ Forest Echoes ~

From the ridge I can hear him, his lonely howl to his far-off mate,

His, is not too difficult to understand, those haunting words of fate.

He tells her how beautiful the scenery is, not hollow,

And of what wind to follow.

For he has found a good meal on the crest,

It is sunset now, and please come join him for the rest.

And from down the ridge in the forest fall, I hear a faint howl,

It's his life-long mate returning from being unsucessful in efforts hunting

the fowl.
