In the North Cascades

The North Cascades of Washington are simply grand and picturesque like a painting.....
Steep rugged mountains that stretch miles to the sky, vast forested valleys that seem endless to the eye, and thousands of rivulets that tumble from the heights rarely if ever running dry. It's no wonder why the poets of the Beat Generation sought consort and comfort in the high, perched atop peaks hired as fire lookouts by the Forest Service.
But then, I suspect they would have done the job for free.......
