He dwelled upon the wild beauty of the world which enriched his soul and added strength

to his being. And it was always his quest to climb high for the 360 degree magnificent-grand

view that could be had. Awe-struck by the grandeur of the land and exhilarated by the pure

mountain air he breathed in, he felt completely connected to the alpine liken to an eagle in

flight, soaring on the wind currents high above. Nowhere else did he want to be . . .

The above text (prose) and photos:  July 23rd, 2006 from a trek Glen Lee, Mark Boyle, and I did in the North Cascades.  The weather was "Hot" in the 90s, as we climbed up a steep snowfield for the view, the bugs were bad (ate Glen up), the black bear we saw wandered away slowly mostly unconcerned, the day was simply grand!
